Get ready for nonstop excitement as Dragon Con takes over downtown Atlanta for Labor Day weekend. Events start on the 1st and rub through the 4th. Be sure to catch the parade at 10am on the 2nd on Peachtree Street downtown – it keeps getting bigger and better every year.
Calloway Gardens will be hosting its 19th annual Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival! The weekend kicks off with the extraordinary Friday Night Balloon Glow and continues all weekend long. Saturday is filled with family-friendly events, including live music, beach activities, a Kids Zone and much more. There’s something for everyone with a classic car show, disc dog demonstrations and entertaining performers.
Go to Marietta for the 31st Annual Art in the Parkthe 2nd through the 4th from 10am to 5pm. This free event features local and national artists, a street chalk art display and a children’s art gallery!
Head north to East Ellijay for Smokin’ Up the Mountains. This new event features a barbecue competition and craft beers.
Rather have Soul Food? Check out the Taste of Soulnext to the Mercedes Benz Stadium. From 11am to 9pm on the 2nd admission is free but don’t forget your lawn chairs! Good food, good music, lots of fun!
Head to Conyers on the 3rd for the 12 annual Caribbean Jerk Festival. Runs from noon to 10pm – go for the food but stay for the music!
Head to Decatur for their annual Book Festivalthat features a book fair and signings, live music, workshops and more. You can enjoy this festival anytime the 1st through the 3rd.
Last but not least head to Buckhead Kick Off Maniaon Friday night. 6pm – 2am the ultimate block party with 13 participating bars!
