Tiny Doors ATL
Fernbank Museum is thrilled to announce the installation of their Tiny Door, which opened on Sept. 9, 2022. While the sculpture is small in stature, the inclusion of a Tiny Door at Fernbank will better connect them with the local art movement in Atlanta and represent the museum as a staple among other institutions in the community.
Where is Fernbank Museum’s Tiny Door?
Fernbank’s Tiny Door is located on the rock retaining wall along the nature path outdoors in WildWoods, across from Kendeda Pavilion.
What is a Tiny Door?
Tiny Doors ATL is an Atlanta-based art project created by artist Karen Anderson Singer. The small entryway-styled installations are designed to reflect the spirit and architecture of the community they represent.
The Concept Behind Fernbank’s Tiny Door
Fernbank Museum’s Tiny Door is a 7-inch, one-of-a-kind installation in partnership with Tiny Doors ATL. Framed with Giganotosaurus claws, a depiction relating to the famous Giants of the Mesozoic dinosaur skeletons that fill Fernbank’s Great Hall, this outdoor display is a unique art piece that also allows them to better connect with Atlanta’s art community.
