Unlock the Magic: Tiny Doors ATL at Fernbank Museum of Natural History!

Tiny Doors ATL

Fernbank Museum is excited to share the installation of its Tiny Door, which opened on Sept. 9, 2022. While the sculpture is small in stature, the inclusion of a Tiny Door at Fernbank aims to enhance its connection with the local art movement in Atlanta and solidify the museum’s role as a key player among other institutions in the community.

Where is Fernbank Museum’s Tiny Door?
Fernbank’s Tiny Door is situated on the rock retaining wall along the outdoor nature path in WildWoods, across from Kendeda Pavilion.

What is a Tiny Door?
Tiny Doors ATL is an Atlanta-based art project founded by artist Karen Anderson Singer. These small entryway-styled installations aim to reflect the spirit and architecture of the community they represent.

The Concept Behind Fernbank’s Tiny Door
Fernbank Museum’s Tiny Door is a unique 7-inch installation created in partnership with Tiny Doors ATL. Framed with Giganotosaurus claws—a nod to the famous Giants of the Mesozoic dinosaur skeletons in Fernbank’s Great Hall—this outdoor display is not only a unique art piece but also a bridge to better connect with Atlanta’s art community.

Where to learn more?
More information about Fernbank’s Tiny Door is available in the museum’s Press Room. Additionally, the sculpture will be included on Tiny Doors ATL’s map, a popular attraction for both tourists and locals.
