Join the Georgia Pinball Tournament at My Parents’ Basement on Sunday, October 30, 2022. Participants can register between 11:30 AM and 11:55 AM, with the first round kicking off at noon. The tournament boasts an entry fee of $5, plus coins for gameplay.
This month’s format will introduce a revised strikes system: instead of the typical 0/1/2/3 progressive strikes, attendees will experience a fair strikes knockout format of 0/1/1/2. Competitors will play in groups of three or four, receiving between 0 and 2 strikes each round. Once a player accumulates 8 strikes, they will be eliminated, but everyone is guaranteed at least four rounds of play.
In groups of four, the top player will receive 0 strikes, the second and third will get 1 strike each, and the fourth player will receive 2 strikes. In groups of three, the first-place player will get 0 strikes, the second will receive 1 strike, and the third will get 2. For two-player groups, the first player will receive 0 strikes while the second will receive 2.
Players with similar records will be paired together after the first round, and final standings will be determined by the number of strikes and elimination order—there will be no finals. The machines will operate at normal settings, charging either $1 per game or offering 3 plays for $2.
The Tournament Director has the discretion to adjust strikes or implement a sudden death final game if time is limited, especially once four or fewer players remain. However, the event typically progresses to completion.
