Meet Maggie Ellis: The Artist Who Paints the Emotional Highs and Lows of Urban Crowds

Roller Coaster Under Clear Blue Sky

If you are looking for an exciting exhibit, head to SCAD Museum of Art in Savannah, where Maggie Ellis, a 2014 graduate of SCAD, is having her first museum exhibition. In The Ride, Ellis captures the emotional highs and lows of urban social life, depicting crowds of people in various situations, such as partying, fighting, or riding rollercoasters. She uses exaggerated perspective and elongated forms to express the excitement and anxiety of her subjects, while also celebrating their diversity and unity. The exhibition runs until Aug. 28 and you can join the artist for a gallery talk on July 15. Don’t miss this chance to experience the ride of Maggie Ellis’s art! For more information, click here.
