Kennesaw City Hall, which includes the Parks & Recreation and Public Works departments, will be closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day (January 1), Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 15), Good Friday (March 29), Memorial Day (May 27), Juneteenth (June 19), Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day (September 2), Veterans Day (November 11), Thanksgiving (November 28 & 29), and Christmas (December 24 & 25).
Trash collection will be disrupted on only six holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. When holidays fall on a Monday, trash and recycling collection will happen one day later for the entire week following the holiday. For holidays that occur midweek, collection on the days after the holiday will also be delayed by a day (for instance, if the holiday is on a Tuesday, Tuesday’s collection will occur on Wednesday, and so on for the remainder of the week). If any of these six holidays fall on a weekend, there will be no change to the collection schedule.
For information on specific holiday hours at the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History or Smith-Gilbert Gardens, it is advised to contact the Museum or Gardens directly.
Emergency services will continue to be available.
