Kennesaw City Hall, which houses Parks & Recreation and Public Works, will observe closures for the following holidays: New Year’s Day (January 1), Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 15), Good Friday (March 29), Memorial Day (May 27), Juneteenth (June 19), Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day (September 2), Veterans Day (November 11), Thanksgiving (November 28 & 29), and Christmas (December 24 & 25).
Trash collection will be disrupted on six specific holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. For holidays that fall on a Monday, trash and recycling routes will be collected one day later throughout the entire week following that holiday. If a holiday occurs midweek, collections for the day of that holiday and the days following will be delayed by one day (for example, if the holiday is Tuesday, Tuesday’s routes will be picked up on Wednesday, Wednesday’s routes on Thursday, and so on for the remainder of that week). If any of these holidays fall on a weekend, the collection schedule will remain unchanged.
For specific holiday hours at the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History or Smith-Gilbert Gardens, it is advised to contact the Museum or Gardens directly.
Emergency services will continue to be available.
