This month’s theme: The Lost World: The Art of Minnie Evans
This month’s program draws inspiration from The Lost World: The Art of Minnie Evans. Participants will emulate Evans’s technique of using rich, blended colors with crayons and colored pencils. The artist often created symmetrical compositions featuring human and animal forms framed by lush, curling foliage. The session will focus on the application of symmetry and imaginative imagery to develop vibrant original compositions.
“Drawing from Experience” is an ongoing series of drawing sessions that take inspiration from the High Museum’s campus and collection. Each session emphasizes a different approach to observing and capturing the surrounding world, allowing participants to explore personal expression and enhance their drawing skills.
All materials are provided during these sessions; participants may also bring their own if preferred. Each ticket includes access to the museum’s galleries.
