Each Saturday and Sunday at 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. during Spring, Summer, and Fall, the Garden Chef Demos take place at the Edible Garden Outdoor Kitchen within the Atlanta Botanical Garden. These showcases feature fresh seasonal fruits, vegetables, and herbs prepared in simple and mouthwatering recipes, inspiring attendees to try something new in their cooking. Natalie Firmin-Chavez is a mixed, first-generation Latina who lives at the intersection of her Mexican-German-American culture, her experiences with world travel, and her passion for local food. As an educational chef, local food advocate, and marketing strategist, she draws inspiration from the seasons to create her plant-forward cuisine. Her culinary journey began in her family’s Oaxacan restaurants in New England and evolved through her career in Urban Agriculture, where she developed a deep connection to the origins of her food. Natalie has worked as a pop-up chef, caterer, and full-time restaurateur alongside her husband. Certified in Food Therapy, she strongly believes in the healing power of food, all while ensuring that her dishes are incredibly delicious. Currently, she shares her love for flavor-packed, intuitive cuisine through educational demonstrations at farmers’ markets and the Atlanta Botanical Garden, as well as on her blog and various social media platforms.
