How do different artworks approach similar ideas in unique ways? Visitors are invited to engage in lively conversations exploring two distinct pieces that connect art across time, geography, identity, and belief.
The event, titled **Through Lines**, begins at the first artwork location and lasts approximately thirty to forty-five minutes. Below are the times, artworks, and locations for the discussions. Stools and assistive listening devices will be provided and are highly recommended to enhance the experience.
10:30 a.m.: Lucy T. Petway (American, 1921-2004), Birds in the Air (1981) will be compared with Hank Willis Thomas (American, born 1976), You Shouldnโt Be the Prisoner of Your Own Ideas (LeWitt) (2017).
11:30 a.m.: Tyler Mitchell (American, born 1995), Georgia Hillside (Redlining) (2021) will be juxtaposed with Gordon Parks (American, 1912-2006), Harlem Rally, Harlem, New York (1963).
