Little ones can be scientists, too! Visitors are invited to explore hands-on learning stations focusing on the natural world at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. This event is presented in partnership with the Atlanta Science Festival.
Activity Stations
Participants can drop in between 10 a.m. and noon.
Visitors will explore the rich variety of life on Earth, from soothing bird songs to buzzing bees, and the seeds that produce a vibrant palette of color every spring in Georgia, and more!
- Botanical Bliss – Plant marigold and watermelon seeds to take home and start a garden!
- What’s the Weather? – Explore the wonder of weather by creating rain sticks to take home, and interact with instruments made from plants at the “Musical Instruments from Around the World” station.
- Spring Birds – Investigate the fascinating world of animals living at the Garden. Attendees will discover the different shapes of bird beaks and how those shapes determine their dietary choices in the Children’s Garden.
- Pollinator Friends – Engage with the “bees in a hive” sensory bins and enjoy the “Pollinator Dress-Up” station!
The event may be canceled or moved indoors if rain, cold temperatures, or inclement weather make outdoor programming impractical. To check the status, attendees can email classes@atlantabg.org.
