Guests can learn as Chefs Ron Hsu and Aaron Phillips from Lazy Betty prepare a four-part menu with wines to enhance the flavors of seasonal and local produce in the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s Edible Garden Outdoor Kitchen.

Registration opens to the public on April 7 via the Outdoor Kitchen phone line. Registrations are processed in the order they are received.

Please note: Circles Members receive early registration access in March, and these popular dinners often sell out during that period. Lazy Betty is a renowned, modern and inventive restaurant located in Atlanta’s Midtown neighborhood, featuring Chef-Partner & Culinary Director Ron Hsu and Chef-Partner & Executive Chef Aaron Phillips. Opened in March 2019, the one-MICHELIN-star restaurant is known for serving creative dishes that showcase modern culinary techniques, intentionality, finesse, and a variety of cuisines using the highest quality ingredients, all in an affable ambiance.

The Food

Lazy Betty serves multi-course tasting menus, with vegetarian and pescatarian versions available upon request, as well as an a la carte menu in their Bar Lounge for walk-in guests. Dishes change seasonally, highlighting refined techniques and diverse cuisines. Each dish is crafted to enhance the overall dining experience, ensuring that every ingredient plays a unique role in its composition. Current menus are available here.

The Beverage

The beverage program mirrors the artistry and technique found in the food program. This list includes inventive seasonal cocktails, beer, wines by the glass and bottle, dessert wines, and a broad selection of rare spirits. Guests can enjoy wine pairings, zero-proof cocktail pairings, and specially curated selections to accompany the culinary team’s acclaimed tasting menu dishes.

The beverage team focuses on sourcing drinks from small producers committed to sustainability. The award-winning wine program showcases a selection of fine, hard-to-find wines from classic regions and unique gems worldwide, prioritizing family-owned wineries that practice organic and Biodynamic methods. There is also an innovative cocktail and non-alcoholic cocktail list that emphasizes sustainability by utilizing kitchen trimmings and excess ingredients.

The restaurant’s beverage program has received multiple awards, including recognitions from Wine Spectator in 2020 and 2021, and has been featured in various publications including Forbes and Maxim.

The Space

Featuring 4,300 square feet, the restaurant includes a 70-seat main dining room, an expansive bar lounge, a semi-private dining room, and a private Chef’s Dining Room. Kat Blue of Blue Lantern Studios designed the space to blend modern elements with hints of nature, evoking harmony with the outdoors. Large windows fill the room with natural light, while earthy tones and organic materials create a welcoming atmosphere.

With sustainability as a focus, authentic materials were used throughout. The bar lounge features lush plants, brass and wood accents, and a handcrafted bird sculpture, while the dining room is adorned with warm terracotta plaster, teal velvet, and quality furnishings. Decorative elements include large light fixtures by local artist Christina Kwan.

The semi-private and private Chef’s Dining Rooms offer unique dining experiences. The semi-private space accommodates 30 guests, while the private room fits 18, with the option to connect both rooms for larger groups of up to 50.

Lazy Betty is Sensory InclusiveTM certified by KultureCity®, ensuring a comfortable dining experience for individuals experiencing sensory overload.

The Team

The culinary team is led by Atlanta native and Chef-Partner/Culinary Director Ron Hsu, alongside Chef-Partner/Executive Chef Aaron Phillips. The team is committed to equitable pay in the restaurant industry, integrating a 20 percent service fee into their pricing to promote fair wages for all staff members.

Since 2023, Lazy Betty has maintained its Sensory InclusiveTM Certification from KultureCity®, enhancing accessibility for guests with sensory needs.
