Exhibition Featuring Holiday Puppets

The Center for Puppetry Arts invites visitors to explore a festive hall of puppets designed to celebrate the holiday season. This year’s exhibition features new additions that showcase lesser-known stories and artists while highlighting traditions from both Jewish and Christian holidays. Festive Features showcases a curated collection of puppets from holiday productions on stage and screen. Notable pieces include a pair of original Santa and Rudolph stop-motion puppets from the 1964 Rankin/Bass television special of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer™, as well as new characters such as Charlie Horse and his King Antiochus costume from the 1995 TV movie, Lamb Chop’s Special Chanukah.

Puppetry has a long-standing tradition in various cultures around the world, serving to convey religious stories and lessons while preserving folk traditions across generations. The exhibition provides an opportunity to experience the unity, joy, and shared humanity of the holiday season.
