On Thursday, October 9, they will have the chance to explore this new exhibition before it opens to the general public.
For over thirty years, Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren have pushed the boundaries between haute couture and art, achieving critical acclaim for their unconventional designs. Their work has attracted attention from icons like Cardi B, Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Tilda Swinton, highlighting their unique blend of technical skill and deep understanding of fashion history. The High Museum is proud to be the exclusive venue in the United States for this major retrospective, organized by curator Thierry-Maxime Loriot and the Kunsthalle Munich, where the exhibition first debuted in February 2024. Featuring over one hundred of Viktor&Rolf’s bold and avant-garde creations designed for the runway and beyond, the exhibition reflects the duo’s passions, obsessions, and distinctive vision. Attendees can expect to see garments from more than thirty collections, as well as their “works-in-progress dolls,” inspired by antique porcelain dolls and dressed in miniature versions of the designers’ handmade pieces. The works will be complemented by elaborate animated projections crafted by the internationally renowned visual effects studio Rodeo FX.
Advance registration is required for this event. Visitors are encouraged to arrive at their designated time to ensure a comfortable experience within the galleries.
