Visitors are invited to enhance their life science, botanical, and environmental studies curriculum with a trip to the Atlanta Botanical Garden. They can stroll through the Fuqua Conservatory to uncover a lush tropical rainforest, observe unique orchids, and marvel at the bizarre succulents from South Africa and Madagascar. Guests can tip-toe through the treetops on the Kendeda Canopy Walk and visit the Edible Garden to learn more about the plants that are part of our diet. Grade-specific, self-guided materials will be available in the Visitor Center, and drop-in tours of the Fuqua Conservatory will be offered to a limited number of attendees on a first-come, first-served basis.
Fuqua Conservatory Tours, Grades K – 12
Drop-in Conservatory Tours will guide groups through the Tropical Rotunda and Desert House to explore how plants have adapted to different climates. Meet in front of the Fuqua Conservatory at 9:30, 10, 10:30, or 11 a.m. Tours last approximately 30 minutes. Homeschoolers and their chaperones are encouraged to line up 10 minutes prior to the tour. Attendance will be limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
Shows for Seedlings: Music of Latin America with Havana Son
At 10 and 10:45 a.m. on the Great Lawn, the dynamic duo, Rene and Llilian of Havana Son, will lead a whirlwind musical tour through Latin America. Their itinerary includes stops in Cuba, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Panama, and Puerto Rico. Children will have the opportunity to experience each country’s unique rhythms and sounds, ensuring the whole family will be up and dancing along!
Parking and sales tax are not included. No outside food or drink is permitted.
