Explore Nature’s Wonders: Homeschool Day at the Atlanta Botanical Garden!

Visitors can supplement their life science, botanical, and environmental studies curriculum with a trip to the Atlanta Botanical Garden. In the Fuqua Conservatory, they can discover a lush tropical rainforest, make observations on unique orchids, and marvel at bizarre succulents from South Africa and Madagascar. They can tiptoe through the treetops on the Kendeda Canopy Walk and visit the Edible Garden to learn more about the plants humans eat. Grade-specific, self-guided materials will be available in the Visitor Center, and volunteers will be present throughout the Garden to introduce students to interesting phenomena.

They should not miss Shows for Seedlings: Passport: A Journey Through African and Diaspora Cultural Arts with Djoli Kelen! Performances take place at 10 and 10:45 a.m. on the Great Lawn. Djoli Kelen Inc. is the only non-profit intergenerational cultural arts collective in the country. Djoli Kelen will take attendees on a journey of traditional African and Diaspora cultural arts to spark curiosity through dance, music, and storytelling.
