An elevated walkway takes visitors from the museum’s Terrace into the treetops, where stunning views of Wildwoods await. From there, guests can tailor their experience.
- Visitors can walk through the two tree pods as they explore further into Wildwoods. The first pod represents a tuliptree flower, while the second pod represents a fern.
- They can explore immersive and interactive exhibits designed for young children (Nature Stories) and tweens (Adventure Outpost).
- Adventure turns to art in the Nature Gallery and throughout WildWoods, featuring permanent installations and rotating special exhibits.
- Guests can get a closer look at nature through special trailside experiences, including a sensory wall, animal tracks, and tree bark molds.
- A variety of native plants, flowers, and wildlife can be spotted as the trails guide visitors along the creek toward the wetland meadow and Isdell Wildlife Sanctuary.
WildWoods is open year-round, rain or shine, but may close due to inclement weather. It is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, including ADA-accessible trails and experiences.
