Saturdays at 10 a.m.: The Fuqua Conservatory lobby at the Atlanta Botanical Garden will host public frog feedings, providing an opportunity to observe frogs in action as they engage with their meals. An amphibian specialist will be present to share informative insights and address any inquiries regarding these fascinating creatures.
During these feedings, visitors will witness one of the most intriguing behaviors of amphibians—feeding. Frogs are known for their long, sticky tongues that extend rapidly to capture prey. Some species, such as Poison frogs, exhibit remarkable speed and precision, rendering the swift disappearance of flies nearly imperceptible to onlookers. Others, like the fringed leaf frog, employ a more theatrical approach by using their hands to stuff crickets into their mouths.
