Saturdays at 10 a.m.: The Fuqua Conservatory lobby at the Atlanta Botanical Garden hosts public frog feedings, where visitors can observe the feeding behaviors of these fascinating amphibians. An amphibian specialist will provide insights and answer questions about frogs during this engaging demonstration.
This event highlights one of the most intriguing aspects of frog behavior—feeding. Many frogs possess long, sticky tongues designed for capturing prey. Certain species, such as Poison frogs, exhibit remarkable speed and precision, making it appear as though flies vanish into thin air. In contrast, the fringed leaf frog displays a more dramatic feeding style, using its hands to stuff crickets into its mouth.
