Saturdays at 10 a.m.: Visitors are invited to the Fuqua Conservatory lobby at the Atlanta Botanical Garden to observe the frog feeding sessions. An amphibian specialist will provide insights and address questions about these fascinating creatures.
Public frog feedings offer attendees a unique opportunity to witness the feeding behaviors of various amphibians. Most frogs utilize long, sticky tongues that extend to capture prey. Some species, such as Poison frogs, demonstrate remarkable speed and precision, resulting in the swift disappearance of flies. Others, like the fringed leaf frog, exhibit dramatic feeding techniques, using their hands to assist in consuming crickets.
