The Harry Potter™ Film Concert Series is set to make a return at the Atlanta Symphony Hall with the highly anticipated performance of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows™ – Part 1 in Concert. This marks the second to last film in the beloved Harry Potter series. On February 7, 8, and 9, conductor Justin Freer will lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra as they perform Alexandre Desplat’s remarkable score live while the entire film will be screened in high-definition on a grand 40-foot screen.
Produced by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment and CineConcerts, the Harry Potter Film Concert Series stands as the only official global concert tour celebrating the Harry Potter films. Since its debut with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s/Philosopher’s Stone in Concert in 2016, the series has captivated over 3 million fans worldwide, with performances scheduled to span over 2,973 dates across more than 48 countries through 2025.
In this installment, Harry, Ron, and Hermione embark on a perilous quest to track down and destroy Voldemort’s Horcruxes, the key to his power. As they navigate danger alone and on the run, their bond is tested by dark forces that threaten to tear them apart.
With a score recognized with accolades such as the International Film Music Critics Award, the World Soundtrack Award, and the Satellite Award for Best Original Score, the Oscar-winning composer Alexandre Desplat (known for The Grand Budapest Hotel, The King’s Speech, and Philomena) has crafted a nuanced yet compelling soundscape, drawing audiences into the gripping adventures as the long-feared wizarding war begins.
Justin Freer, President of CineConcerts and Producer/Conductor of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series, expressed his excitement: “The Harry Potter film series is a once-in-a-lifetime cultural phenomenon that continues to delight millions of fans around the world. It is with great pleasure that we bring fans for the first time ever an opportunity to experience the award-winning music scores played live by a symphony orchestra, all while the beloved film is simultaneously projected onto the big screen. This is truly an unforgettable event.”
Brady Beaubien of CineConcerts and the Concert Producer for the Harry Potter Film Concert Series also shared, “Harry Potter is synonymous with excitement around the world and we hope that by performing this incredible music with the full movie, audiences will enjoy returning to the Wizarding World.”
