Leap into Fun: Frog Feeding Adventure at the Atlanta Botanical Garden!

Saturdays at 10 a.m.: Visitors are invited to drop by the Fuqua Conservatory lobby at the Atlanta Botanical Garden to watch the frogs jump into action when presented with their meals. An amphibian specialist will share fun facts and answer questions about these captivating creatures.

Public frog feedings provide an opportunity for guests to observe one of the most interesting aspects of these amphibians – their feeding behaviors. Most frogs possess long sticky tongues that shoot out at prey. Some, like Poison frogs, are able to do this with such incredible speed and accuracy that all observers notice only the flies disappearing. Others, such as the fringed leaf frog, are dramatic feeders that stuff crickets into their mouths using their hands.
