Viktor&Rolf: Bold Fashion Statements at the High Museum of Art

For over three decades, Dutch fashion artists Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren have pushed the boundaries between haute couture and art with remarkable skill. The duo, often considered outsiders in the fashion world, has received critical acclaim for their unconventional designs, showcasing both technical mastery and a profound understanding of fashion and its history. Their work has been embraced by notable artists including Cardi B, Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Tilda Swinton.

This fall, The High Museum in Atlanta will be the exclusive U.S. venue for the first major retrospective of Viktor & Rolf’s work, organized by curator Thierry-Maxime Loriot and the Kunsthalle Munich, where the exhibition debuted in February 2024. The exhibition will feature over 100 of their most daring and avant-garde pieces, spanning more than 30 of their collections, as well as selections of “works-in-progress dolls” inspired by antique porcelain dolls, showcasing miniature versions of the designers’ handmade creations. The displayed works will be accompanied by intricate animated projections created for the exhibition by the internationally acclaimed visual effects studio Rodeo FX.
