If you are looking for some artistic inspiration this summer, you might want to visit the Decatur Fine Arts Exhibition 2023, a juried showcase of local artists’ small works at the Decatur Library.
The exhibition is a part of the Decatur Arts Festival, a free public event that celebrates art in all its forms. The exhibition features around 120 artworks in various mediums, such as painting, photography, sculpture, jewelry, and more. Each artwork is no larger than 24 inches in any direction, but they all have a big impact on the viewer.
The exhibition is open from June 2nd to July 26th at the newly renovated 4th floor gallery of the Decatur Library. You can view the artworks during the library hours, or during the special hours on the festival weekend: Friday, May 5th from 6:30 to 9:30 pm, Saturday, May 6th from 10 am to 6 pm, and Sunday, May 7th from 11 am to 5 pm.
You can also join the closing reception on Friday, June 16th from 6:30 to 9:30 pm, where you can hear artist talks and enjoy light refreshments. You can also check out the gallery page for full details on each artwork and artist featured in this year’s juried exhibition.
The Decatur Fine Arts Exhibition 2023 is a great opportunity to see and support the talent and creativity of the Decatur art scene. Don’t miss this chance to admire some small works with big impact.
