City Hall Shutdown: Kennesaw Goes Quiet!

Kennesaw City Hall, which houses the Parks & Recreation and Public Works departments, will be closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day (January 1), Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 20), Good Friday (April 18), Memorial Day (May 26), Juneteenth (June 19), Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day (September 1), Veterans Day (November 11), Thanksgiving (November 27 & 28), and Christmas (December 24 & 25).

Trash collection will be disrupted on six specific holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. For holidays occurring on a Monday, trash and recycling routes for the entire week will be picked up one day later. For midweek holidays, collections on the days following the holiday will be delayed by one day (for example, if the holiday is on Tuesday, Tuesday’s routes will be picked up on Wednesday, and Wednesday’s routes will be moved to Thursday, and so on for the rest of the week). If any of these six holidays fall on a weekend, the collection schedule will remain unchanged.

For specific holiday hours at the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History or Smith-Gilbert Gardens, direct contact with the Museum or Gardens is recommended.

Emergency services will continue to be available.
