Kennesaw’s City Hall, which includes the Parks & Recreation and Public Works departments, will be closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day (January 1), Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 20), Good Friday (April 18), Memorial Day (May 26), Juneteenth (June 19), Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day (September 1), Veterans Day (November 11), Thanksgiving (November 27 & 28), and Christmas (December 24 & 25).
Trash collection will be disrupted only on six specific holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If a holiday falls on a Monday, all trash and recycling routes that week will be serviced one day later. For holidays occurring midweek, collections on affected days will be delayed by one day. For example, if the holiday is on Tuesday, Tuesday’s collection will occur on Wednesday, Wednesday’s collection on Thursday, and so forth for the rest of the week. No changes will be made to the collection schedule when these holidays land on a weekend.
For information regarding specific holiday hours at the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History or Smith-Gilbert Gardens, individuals are encouraged to contact the Museum or Gardens directly.
Emergency services will remain available throughout these holiday closures.
