Literary Treasure Exchange: Kennesaw’s Book Swap Bash!

Literary Treasure Exchange: Kennesaw’s Book Swap Bash!

Kennesaw Parks & Recreation will organize the annual Book Swap on Saturday, January 25th, from 8 AM to 11 AM at the Ben Robertson Community Center. Residents from the area are invited to drop off gently used hardcover or paperback books, music CDs, DVD movies, and vinyl records on January 23rd and 24th, from noon to 8 PM, in exchange for tickets redeemable for the same number of items at the “open swap” on January 25th.

Books must have their front and back covers intact and be in good condition. CDs, DVDs, and vinyl records should be in their original cases and fully operable. Magazines, software, VHS, cassette tapes, adult content, and unauthorized or illegal materials will not be accepted.

Items will be organized into categories, including fiction, children, teen, nonfiction, DVDs, and CDs/vinyl. Each participant is limited to 75 books, 40 CDs, 40 DVDs, and 40 vinyl records. The swap is free of charge, and items cannot be purchased. Any leftover items after the event will be donated.

Kennesaw Parks & Recreation is looking for volunteers to help with the setup, execution, and breakdown of the event activities. Volunteers are needed during the drop-off period and the event to assist with receiving, sorting, counting, and bagging items. Individuals must be able to bend, stoop, stand, and lift up to 20 pounds.

For more information or to sign up for a volunteer shift, individuals can visit the registration website, CivicRec, and select “Volunteer Opportunities.”
