The event will be guided by Bonsai Curator Rodney Clemons, taking place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (with a lunch break from 12 noon to 1 p.m.). This program is open to visitors and is included with garden admission.
Every second Saturday of the month, with some exceptions noted on the events calendar, Rodney Clemons comes to Smith-Gilbert Gardens to oversee, evaluate, care for, and prune the bonsai collection. Together with a small team of skilled and experienced volunteers, Rodney ensures the collection receives expert care in all aspects of its maintenance.
Visitors are encouraged to ask questions and engage in conversations with Rodney and the volunteers to gain insights into this ancient art form.
For those interested in learning more about bonsai, it is recommended to visit on the second Saturday of the month.
(Please note: Personal bonsai trees are not permitted in the Gardens.)
