The upcoming workshop titled “Itโs Getting Hot in Here (the study of friction)” invites participants to explore the different methods train builders utilize to address the issue of friction in trains and tracks.
Participants can experience STEAM-powered fun at the Homeschool Workshop, where they will uncover new train-themed concepts and have the opportunity to apply these ideas to their own inventions, art projects, machines, or games. The workshops are multidisciplinary, featuring hands-on projects, guided activities, tours, and demonstrations.
The drop-in program runs from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with each student receiving a personalized introduction and thorough instructions prior to engaging in open-ended activities. A guided presentation or tour takes place every half hour, allowing for a deeper exploration of the workshop topic.
This event is recommended for elementary students ages 5 to 12 and their caregivers. It is included in the Museum admission and is free for Museum members. Registration is not required.
