Ironclad vs. Blockade Runners

Participants can learn how they would have fared as a blockade runner and explore the role of the Navy during the Civil War while testing their seafaring vessels against others.

The Homeschool Workshop invites individuals to investigate STEAM-powered fun, discover new train-themed concepts, and apply them to their inventions, art projects, machines, or games. The workshops are multidisciplinary, incorporating hands-on projects, guided activities, tours, and demonstrations.

This drop-in program operates from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Each student receives a personalized introduction along with detailed instructions before engaging in open-ended activities. A guided presentation or tour occurs every half hour, allowing participants to delve deeper into the workshop topics.

This event is recommended for elementary students ages 5 to 12 and their caregivers. It is included in Museum admission and is free for Museum members. Registration is not required.
