The Marietta History Center is excited to celebrate its 30th anniversary with a special exhibition titled “Marietta History Center at 30.” This retrospective explores the museum’s journey from its founding in 1996 to its current status as a key historical institution in Marietta and Cobb County. The exhibit is organized into four chronological chapters, showcasing the museum’s evolution over the past three decades.
Visitors will gain insight into the museum’s operations, including the vital role of volunteers and the process of accepting artifacts into the permanent collection. A highlight of the exhibit focuses on the historic Kennesaw House, originally built in the 1840s and known for its resilience during the Civil War and the burning of Marietta.
This exhibition not only celebrates thirty years of preserving history but also emphasizes the mission of connecting individuals through engaging stories and experiences. The exhibition will be open from Saturday, January 31, through late Fall 2026.
Admission prices are set at $10 for adults, $7 for students and seniors aged 60 and up, while members, children under 5, and active military members and veterans can enter for free.
