Pianist Yulianna Avdeeva will make her debut at Spivey Hall on January 17, 2027, at 3:00 PM. This concert features a captivating program that includes selections from Shostakovich’s “Preludes and Fugues, Op. 87” as well as Chopin’s “24 Preludes, Op. 28.”
January 2027 marks a special milestone, the 100th anniversary of the International Chopin Competition, which was notably entered by a young Dmitri Shostakovich and later won by Avdeeva herself. Her recent recordings of Shostakovich have received praise for their depth and nuanced interpretations.
