Life in the Cemetery Tour
Date: October 23, 2026
Time: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Venue: Kennesaw City Cemetery
As fall approaches, the Kennesaw City Cemetery will host the annual “Life in the Cemetery” historical walking tour. Sponsored by the Kennesaw Cemetery Preservation Foundation and the City of Kennesaw Cemetery Preservation Commission, this event takes place from October 23 through October 25.
This year’s tour celebrates America 250, exploring the country’s history through the stories of the cemetery’s residents. Subjects include the Civil War, Westward Expansion, the World Wars, the Great Depression, and the Civil Rights Movement, highlighting their influence on Kennesaw.
The one-hour tour features uneven surfaces, including dirt, grass, and gravel roads, and requires navigating around headstones and family plot walls. It is not recommended for those with mobility challenges.
For those unable to attend in person, a virtual tour is available at kennesawcemetery.org. Pets are not permitted in the cemetery.
Tickets will be available starting September 1, 2026.
