The High Museum in Atlanta will host an event focused on the ancient art of Suminagashi, also known as “floating ink.” Participants will create elegant, one-of-a-kind marbled patterns on water by guiding pigment rings across the surface before transferring their designs onto absorbent Japanese paper. This meditative practice emphasizes chance, breath, and the beauty of flowing color. Attendees will leave with a piece of paper or fabric bearing their printed designs.
