Program Overview:
Atlanta’s Traditional Okinawan Karate-do Dojo has been established since 1987. The dojo offers traditional instruction in Shorin Ryu and Shudokan Karate-do, focusing on both the physical and internal aspects of martial arts. The program promotes self-defense skills through time-proven techniques and drills aimed at personal development.
Training is conducted in a supportive environment that fosters cooperation and respect. It is designed for both beginners and experienced practitioners. The dojo’s approach to karate maintains the authenticity of traditional teachings while adapting to contemporary needs.
The curriculum is distinct from sport karate, emphasizing unarmed self-defense techniques developed by Okinawans over centuries. Instruction also incorporates principles from T’ai Chi Ch’uan, Hung Gar Kung Fu, and Aikido, as taught by Moeller Sensei, who has over 30 years of experience and is the author of Karate-Do Foundations published in 1995.
