Teen Forest Lab: Insects
Saturday, March 21, 2026, 1:00 PM — 3:00 PM
This event at the Fernbank Museum invites teens to engage with the museum’s resident insects through hands-on activities, including insect pinning and habitat exploration. Participants will have the opportunity to examine a variety of insects and their relatives—both living and preserved—to learn about their complex anatomy and significant ecological roles as pollinators, decomposers, and food sources.
This workshop is designed exclusively for teens aged 13-17 years.
Cost: The program fee is $15 for Fernbank members and $30 for nonmembers. This fee includes a 2-hour workshop in Fernbank Forest, self-guided exploration of all museum exhibits, and the option to view a giant screen film.*
Space is limited to 20 participants, and online reservations are required. Walk-ins will not be accepted.
Location: Participants will gather in the museum lobby before proceeding as a group to Fernbank Forest. Additional information is available about Fernbank Forest, recognized as “Atlanta’s hidden gem.”
*Available films and screening times will be confirmed upon arrival.
