Bug Fest

Bug Fest takes place at Fernbank Museum, offering an exploration of the incredible world of insects through hands-on activities, crafts, and educational opportunities. Attendees can engage in science and discovery while experiencing fun activities related to insects.
This event is included with general admission. Members can attend for free.

Attendees can embark on a bug-filled scavenger hunt in the Orkin Discovery Zone, seeking out fascinating insects.
University of Georgia: H.O. Lund Club | Great Hall, 1st Floor
The H.O. Lund Club offers an interactive experience with live insects, real specimen collections, and engaging insect science activities.
WunderGrubs | Great Hall, 1st Floor
This group will present a demonstration of sustainable insect farming, including a modular vertical mealworm farm and various by-product displays.
Georgia Pest Control Association | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Visitors can partake in hands-on activities about pest control and insects.
Metro Atlanta Beekeepers Association | Great Hall, 1st Floor
This association will showcase the magic of bees, featuring coloring activities for children, a real hive observation, and educational discussions about swarm management.
Georgia Department of Agriculture | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Participants can engage in bug trivia, play games, meet live insects, and have their photo taken with Randy the Roach.
University of Georgia Center for Urban Agriculture | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Attendees can explore preserved insect specimens and observe intricate butterfly wing patterns under a microscope.
University of Georgia Department of Entomology | Great Hall, 1st Floor
This department will offer a “Bug Zoo,” allowing participants to meet live insects and potentially hold some of them.
University of Georgia Urban Entomology Program | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Visitors can discover urban insect pests and receive a detailed guide to those they may encounter in their daily lives.
Georgia Native Plant Society | Great Hall, 1st Floor
This society will lead an exploration into how insects support native plant health.
The Three Profiteers | Great Hall, 1st Floor
This group will provide a live presentation featuring a variety of arthropods.
