The Georgia Symphony Orchestra is celebrating 75 years of music and community with a special concert on May 23, from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM at the Atlanta Symphony Hall. This milestone event features over 400 performers, including the Georgia Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, the Uzee Brown Society of Choraliers, the Wendell P. Whalum Community Chorus, the Georgia Spiritual Ensemble, and the talented young musicians of the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra.
The evening’s program includes a diverse array of pieces that reflect the GSO’s legacy. Highlights include selections from Holst’s The Planets, performed side-by-side with the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the finale with Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony, showcasing the combined talents of the chorus, orchestra, and soloists.
