Celestial Perspectives, a solo exhibition featuring the textile artwork of Jess Self, invites viewers into a unique installation at the Terri Strickland Cole Galleries. This exhibition transforms the space into a multi-dimensional portal, showcasing intricately hand-woven pieces that evoke themes of cosmic mapping and textile labyrinths. The artwork encourages exploration, inviting individuals to navigate through various forms and colors while reflecting on the interplay of timelines and personal histories.

Jess Self, based in Decatur, GA, is known for her work that blends craft traditions and storytelling, exploring materiality and cultural narratives through mediums like textiles, wax, and wood. With a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Georgia State University, she has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions and has received several distinguished awards.

The exhibition runs until June 11 and is part of the ongoing Celestial Perspectives series. The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art is open Tuesday to Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Friday to Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for military personnel, students (ages 6-18 or with a college ID), and seniors (65+), while members enjoy free entry, and children under 6 are also free.
