Birds Georgia Forest Walk

On Saturday, October 24, 2026, visitors are invited to join a Birds Georgia volunteer at Fernbank Museum to learn about the feathered inhabitants of Fernbank Forest, including both permanent residents and seasonal visitors. This program is designed for beginning birders and those seeking a walk on gentle terrain.
The event welcomes participants of all ages and will take place rain or shine, though it may be canceled in the event of severe weather. Attendance is limited to 20 individuals, and reservations are required.
Participants should prepare for the weather and anticipate walking on unpaved and uneven trails. It is recommended that individuals bring binoculars, field guides, and water. Once the walk commences, participants are expected to remain with the group for the duration of the program. Strollers are not suitable for this event.
This program is complimentary for Fernbank Museum members and Birds Georgia members.
