The Atlanta Botanical Garden offers an immersive experience tailored for life science, botanical, and environmental studies. Within the Fuqua Conservatory, visitors can explore a vibrant tropical rainforest, observe unique orchid species, and appreciate the extraordinary succulents native to South Africa and Madagascar. The Kendeda Canopy Walk provides a distinct perspective from the treetops, while the Edible Garden invites exploration of the plants that contribute to human diet. Visitors may access grade-specific, self-guided materials available in the Visitor Center, and volunteers will be present throughout the Garden to share engaging insights with students.
The event will feature Taiko & Dance: The Spirit of Okinawa with Mirai Kanai, performing at 10 and 10:45 a.m. on the Great Lawn. This presentation showcases Eisa, a traditional performance art originally intended to honor ancestors during Obon festivals, now celebrated year-round as a vibrant expression of Okinawan culture. Audiences can anticipate synchronized movements, spirited shouts, and the deep, resonant rhythms of both small hand drums and large taiko drums.
Parking and sales tax are not included. Outside food or drink is prohibited. Walk-ups are welcome.
Please note: This event is complimentary for Garden members, who do not require tickets.
