The Marietta History Center is celebrating a significant milestone with the launch of its 30th-anniversary exhibition, “Marietta History Center at 30.” This retrospective will explore the museum’s journey from its founding in 1996 to its current role as a key historical institution in Marietta and Cobb County, all housed within the historic Kennesaw House.
The exhibition is structured into four chronological sections that highlight the institution’s development over the past three decades. It offers insights into various aspects of museum operations, from the vital role of volunteers to the process of integrating artifacts into the permanent collection. A special focus will be on the Kennesaw House, built in the 1840s and known for its resilience during significant historical events.
This exhibition is open to the public starting September 2 and will run through late Fall 2026. Admission costs are $10 for adults, $7 for students and seniors (60+), while members, children under 5, and active military personnel along with veterans can enter free of charge.
