Saturdays at 10 a.m.: The Atlanta Botanical Garden invites visitors to the Fuqua Conservatory lobby for public frog feedings. An amphibian specialist will provide insights into the feeding behaviors of these intriguing creatures and answer any questions attendees may have.
During the frog feedings, guests will have the opportunity to observe various feeding techniques employed by different species of frogs. Many frogs have long, sticky tongues that rapidly extend to capture prey. For instance, Poison frogs display remarkable speed and accuracy while catching flies, often making it appear as though the flies vanish instantly. Conversely, the fringed leaf frog exhibits more dramatic feeding patterns, using its hands to stuff crickets into its mouth.
