Saturdays at 10 a.m.: Visitors are invited to the Fuqua Conservatory lobby at the Atlanta Botanical Garden to observe the frog feeding sessions. An amphibian specialist will provide insights and answer questions about these fascinating creatures.
Public frog feedings offer a unique opportunity to witness the intriguing feeding behaviors of amphibians. Many frogs utilize long, sticky tongues that extend rapidly to capture prey. Notably, Poison frogs exhibit remarkable speed and precision, making it seem as though flies vanish before one’s eyes. In contrast, the fringed leaf frog demonstrates a more theatrical feeding approach, using its hands to stuff crickets into its mouth.
