Inspired by the bold visual language of Amy Sherald: American Sublime, this workshop offers participants the opportunity to explore how culturally significant photographs and personal images of friends and family can be transformed through collage techniques. Attendees will reinterpret imagery through an expressive lens to reveal new perspectives and possibilities.
Participants will learn to manipulate and transform materials such as paper, fabric, magazines, and photographs through cutting, tearing, and layering, ultimately creating a unique composition that emphasizes how collage can reshape narratives in visual media.
All necessary supplies will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own photographs, printed images, or other materials they wish to incorporate into their collages.
This event will take place at the High Museum in Atlanta.
