Participants are invited to engage with the world through their cameras at the High Museum in Atlanta. Drawing inspiration from Blazing Light: Photographs by Mimi Plumb, the workshop will explore the relationship between photography and narrative. Following a discussion, attendees will embark on a guided walk around Midtown, guided by a series of photography prompts designed to reveal new perspectives and ideas. After the walk, participants will return to the museum to share their work and reflect on their experiences. Each person will have the opportunity to select their favorite photograph from the day to print and mat, fostering a deeper connection to both their craft and the city.
This workshop is open to all skill levels and accommodates any type of camera, including smartphones. Attendees are responsible for bringing their own cameras, while all other necessary supplies will be provided.
The walking portion will cover one mile over the course of 75 to 90 minutes.
Please note that in the event of inclement weather, May 16 is reserved as a makeup date.
