Saturdays at 10 a.m.: Visitors are invited to the Fuqua Conservatory lobby at the Atlanta Botanical Garden to observe live frog feedings. An amphibian specialist will be present to share informative insights and answer questions regarding these fascinating creatures.
The public frog feeding sessions provide a unique opportunity to witness the feeding behaviors of various amphibians. Most frogs utilize long, sticky tongues to capture their prey, with some species, such as Poison frogs, demonstrating remarkable speed and precision, making it seem as though flies vanish instantly. Other species, like the fringed leaf frog, exhibit more theatrical feeding techniques, using their hands to assist in consuming crickets.
