The Marietta History Center celebrates a significant milestone with its exhibition, “Marietta History Center at 30,” which runs from January 31 through late Fall 2026. This special retrospective showcases the evolution of the museum from its founding in 1996 to its current status as a cornerstone of history in Marietta and Cobb County, all within the historic Kennesaw House.
The exhibition is thoughtfully organized into four chronological chapters reflecting the museum’s journey over three decades. It not only highlights key events but also provides insight into how the museum operates, the role of volunteers, and the process for accepting artifacts into the collection. A highlight of the exhibit is the Kennesaw House, which has a storied past as a cotton warehouse and hotel, and has withstood the trials of the Civil War.
Admission prices are set at $10 for adults, $7 for students and seniors (60+), while members, children under five, and active military and veterans can enter for free. The center is located at 1 Depot St NE, Marietta, GA, and open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. For more information, the website is available at https://www.mariettahistory.org/.
