Community Bulletin: Public Safety Event
The Sandy Springs community is invited to meet local law enforcement and emergency services personnel, including K-9 units, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The event will feature opportunities to explore police cars, fire trucks, mobile command centers, and SWAT vehicles. Helicopters will land on Mt. Vernon Highway, and additional activities will be provided.
Entertainment will include a DJ, a giant inflatable obstacle course, and refreshments such as free snow cones and hot dogs. Sandy Springs Recreation & Parks will also present interactions with prehistoric dinosaurs.
This event is free and suitable for families. It is organized by the Sandy Springs Recreation and Parks, Police, and Fire Departments.
Parking Information:
- South Parking Lot: Corner of Blue Stone Rd and Mt. Vernon Hwy
- City Springs Parking Garage: 1 Galambos Way, accessible from Mt. Vernon Highway and Sandy Springs Circle
- ADA Parking: Available at City Springs Parking Garage, 1 Galambos Way

Road Closures:
- Blue Stone Rd: Closed from Galambos Way to Mt. Vernon Hwy on Tuesday, August 5, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Mount Vernon Hwy: Closed from Blue Stone Rd to Galambos Way on Tuesday, August 5, from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
