An intriguing solo exhibition titled Celestial Perspectives is currently on display in the Terri Strickland Cole Galleries at the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art. This remarkable installation features textile artwork by artist Jess Self, transforming the gallery into a multi-dimensional space that invites exploration.

Self’s intricately hand-woven pieces utilize a variety of techniques and patterns, evoking a rich tapestry that reflects both cosmic imagery and a labyrinthine experience. The installation encourages viewers to engage with the work physically and psychologically, navigating through layers that symbolize connections between time, history, and identity.

Jess Self, based in Decatur, GA, is a sculptor and educator with an MFA in Sculpture from Georgia State University. Her artwork integrates a blend of craft traditions and storytelling, examining themes of spirituality within the human experience. She has showcased her work nationally and internationally and teaches at the University of North Georgia.

The exhibition is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission prices are $10 for adults, $8 for military members, students (ages 6-18 or with college ID), and seniors (65+).
