Saturdays at 10 a.m.: The Fuqua Conservatory lobby at the Atlanta Botanical Garden will host public frog feedings, allowing visitors to observe the feeding behaviors of various frog species. An amphibian specialist will present the event and share engaging information while answering questions about these fascinating creatures.
During the feedings, attendees will witness one of the most intriguing aspects of amphibian life. Frogs use long, sticky tongues to capture prey, with some species, such as poison frogs, showcasing remarkable speed and precision. Visitors will see flies vanish in an instant. Other species, like the fringed leaf frog, exhibit unique feeding techniques, using their hands to stuff crickets into their mouths.
